In the revised, second edition of Gaia's Garden , Toby Hemenway extends his expert knowledge of permaculture to urban and suburban landscapes. As far a first introduction into permaculture, I would give it a 10/10, but I like the depth that the Designers Manual by Bill Mollison goes into. This is definitely my go to book for learning Permaculture principles and design and putting them into practice in my little abandoned lots garden. The food was plentiful and delicious and we spent happy evenings in the poolside bar where the bar staff were more like friends to us.
That said, this book was excellent because it gave me many practical ideas for water management, garden design, and plant selection. Your review gives us a great motivation to continue the hard work so as to complete all your special needs and give you the wonderful vacations you deserve!Chapter 8 begins with simple interplanting techniques, and expands on these to show how to create polycultures (blends of several to many plant species that work together) and human-designed plant communities, or guilds. I've wondered frequently through the years of how yards and gardens can be used more efficiently-I was fortunate enough to stumble across this book with so many answers and easy ways to start. Many people mistakenly think that “ecological gardening”—which involves growing a wide range of edible and other useful plants—can take place only on a large, multiacre scale. TL;DR I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in designing and creating a permaculture or ecological garden of their own.

There's no advantage to doing one temple first and both must be completed to gain the remaining elements you need for the game.

A lot of texts on this kind of subject end up making me feel bad because I'm an actual human not a simulation, but Hemenway takes the attitude that doing the best you can is better than doing nothing at all. The plants themselves are grouped in natural communities, where each species plays a role in building soil, deterring pests, storing nutrients, and luring beneficial insects.These resilient, dynamic backyard ecosystems act like those in nature while providing for us, and reducing our demands on the diminishing resources of this planet.
