Dalmeny Lytham St Annes Wedding Photography – Sam & Craig. About a month before your wedding, we send you a little questionnaire so we have all the details we need on the day. The thing that stood out the most on Sam and Craig’s form, were those few little words that made us smile. ‘Both Bride and Groom Photo Shy’.
Well, we knew Sam and Craig were a little nervous to start with. A few weeks ago, we took them around a nature reserve in Fleetwood for a pre wedding shoot to get rid of those nerves. To get used to us and the cameras ahead of the big day. And so we could really make the most of the portrait time with these two. It’s not every day that you have someone hanging around with a camera all day and following you, so it’s something we do a lot of.
After 10 minutes of the pre wedding shoot, these guys were just SO natural. So, with their expectations still set at ‘camera shy’, we were fully prepared to give them images with personality, fun, emotion and fully encapsulating their relationship as well as the amazing wedding day they had planned.
We started the day with an all-star cast at the Dalmeny Hotel, a stone’s throw from our Victorian fisherman’s cottage in Lytham St Annes. The fabulous Sonara Parker and Duncan Fisher were hard at work whilst prosecco flowed and the excitement of the morning built. I left Katie in the mayhem of bridal preparations and headed up to meet Craig and the boys at a proper, traditional barbers in Blackpool.
We love to capture the emotion, nerves, excitement and everything in between during a wedding morning. Today, we really got to experience the full spectrum as it got closer to the ceremony.
Sam and Craig were married on the top floor of the Dalmey hotel, with a panoramic view of the fylde coast and St Annes beach extending to the pier. It was a beautiful day with just a few spots of rain, so after Sam and Craig became Mr & Mrs, we headed out.
Fairhaven Lake is a short drive away, and we spent a few moments alone here capturing some portraits, before heading back to the party. Paul Guard provided entertainment, and Darren Robinson wowed guests with close-up magic. Paul continued throughout the wedding breakfast, and had everyone up dancing and singing – it was an amazing atmosphere and we loved being part of it, sat with the wedding party.
In the evening, the sky cleared and the sun went down in spectacular fashion. Sam and Craig needed a breather from the action of the party, so we walked over to the seafront and spent some extra time shooting some portraits for them. It’s so important to take some time out to reflect and take it all in, and getting out with us is the perfect excuse!
Back at the party, it was just getting going as DJ Gary Mills started his set, and got the crowd moving for the evening.
Thank you SO much you two, we absolutely loved being involved in your big day xxx The slideshow images are the same as below, so watch or scroll to view.
