Relaunched again, Daredevil vol 4, by Waid and Chris Samnee, saw Matt, Foggy, and Kirsten living in San Francisco, with Foggy getting cancer treatments until he has to fake his own death (again). With new enemies, new friends and a 'grinnin' in the face of hell' attitude, Mark Waid delivers an Eisner Award-winning run like no other! Absolutely amazing art which is a good change from the dark and shady colours and grim storylines of before. Constantly Changing Name: A Running Gag is that Kristie keeps changing the name on the door of the law firm every time it appears.Everyone's experience with the comic is their own, there are fans out there who've read and enjoyed all/both. Matt has trouble when confronted with the Purple Children, the children of the Purple Man, who stir up his depression again, but manages to work on it with Kirsten's help.

The entire run has been reprinted in three different editions, the normal trade paperbacks, the two-in-one deluxe HC edition, and the omnibus. I also liked the fact that Mark Waid made some references to Matt’s past events in “Shadowland” as it does indeed affect Matt’s current life, especially with the whole city knowing that he is Daredevil and Matt repenting for his actions in “Shadowland.Apparently this takes a turn out of a gritty trend for Matt, which it sort of flags up in the story by Matt going on about how he has to do this to cope. One of the officers is a young woman in a pair of Cool Shades, who eventually removes them to reveal that she's Asian-American. When the Punisher's new apprentice is cornered by Hornhead, she gives a small rant about how the only people who are actually serious about being heroes are those who've suffered tragedy. Mark Waid breathes new life into the crimson clad crimefighter as he tries to put his past behind him and get back to his roots.Later on however, Matt soon discovers that there are some mysterious crimes at work in New York City. I also loved the way that the fighting scenes are drawn as they made the fighting sequences extremely interesting to look at! Normally one of Marvels darkest characters, with character defining runs by Frank Miller, Ed Brubaker, Kevin Smith and Brian Michael Bendis, who all put Daredevil through the wringer, comes a surprising lighthearted run by Mark Waid. The general story line isn't anything memorable and the characters are not really all that interesting. Daredevil is saving a bride of a crime family then since his identity is known to the world he has to dodge that and also help this muslim taxi driver in a case and fight Klaw and that was an awesome one!
