I don’t really know what the differences are other than the K92 has a wider frequency range I believe, but hopefully they work out great for you. Vox bass amps cater to bassists looking for excellent small combos to practice, jam and record with.

Of course, there are plenty of small combo amps and practice amps on the market which give you great sounds at lower volumes and without taking up too much space. I like the additional tone options and it did certain things slightly better than the Vox like the lights and changing tempo. I am a rank beginner on bass and at this time and for the immediate future, I will not concern myself with “tone”.

The most annoying thing I found is that there is a metronome but it is hidden on the ‘other’ setting and so isn’t that quick to find. Simply plug the amPlug directly into any guitar, attach a pair of headphones and enjoy serious guitar tone without waking the neighbours. The next up would be a small amp like blackstar fly 3 bass he can use that as a headphones amp as well.

They look suspiciously like a clone of the AmPlug, but who knows, perhaps they’re made under licence.This means it does take a little longer to move between them than on the Vox and can be annoying if you go past one and have to go through them all again.

You will want some sort of tone control with that Dragonfly (I had the 4 string version, very nice basses, but piezo’s can be brittle sounding sometimes. If you are a bass player who wants to try out different sounds or play with heavy distortion, you may find the lack of variety on the Vox slightly limiting.
